St. Francis House
St. Francis House provides emergency food, temporary shelter and related support services to the homeless and hungry
of Alachua County.
Volunteers are needed in several aspects of our agency. Day and evening
shelter volunteers come in for a minimum of two hours per week to gives services
to the clients and provide administrative support. Kitchen volunteers can choose
any day of the week/weekend between 9 AM and 2 PM to help prepare and set up the
noon meal. Evening meal volunteers provide a meal for the residents to be served between 5 and 6 PM.
The shelter is also involved in children's activities, office work and fund-raising.
